We have a wonderful community centre – mainly, but not exclusively – for older people, right in the heart of Banbury – yet very few people seem to know they are there!
The café at the Cornhill Centre, run by the Royal Voluntary Service, is open between 9.30am and 2pm every weekday except Wednesday, when it opens later, at 10.30am.
They have a lot of regular activities here throughout the week; Podiatry, International Dancing, Art and singing on Mondays; Hairdressing and Folk Dancing on Tuesdays; Weight Watchers meet at the Centre on Wednesday mornings; they have hairdressing, host the Talking newspaper and another singing group on Thursdays, and their lovely Day Centre, as well as surgeries from Solicitors and from Banburyshire Advice Service on Fridays. Phew!
Their coffee is reasonably priced, and the company is stimulating – do seek them out, behind the JT Davies Pub; you won’t regret it!
