My name is Nigel Lumsdale and I have recently released my debut novel in the genre of crime/thriller entitled, ‘Three Weeks, Two Lives, One End’ through Pegasuspublishers.com.
As the title of the book suggests, it is based over a period of ‘Three Weeks’. The main character, Brett Johnson decides that after just over three years and a police investigation that is going nowhere, it is down to him to investigate the killing of his wife in a fatal hit and run accident. He vows at her graveside that even if it costs his own life, he would find the driver who was responsible and bring them to justice.
His sister Bonny, pushes Brett to kick-start his love life and he is introduced to a lady called Leslie Hall, but she prefers to be called Lee. This new relationship brings up some startling events that neither of them could foresee! These are the main ‘Two Lives’ that the title is referring to.
From what should have been a straight forward investigation, the stones that are overturned by Brett and Lee, unravel crime beyond normal proportions. All they want is one name, the name of the driver of the car on that fateful night. People they encounter know who it is, but every time they seem to make a breakthrough, another wall stands in their way.
They join forces with a policeman, who was one of the original officers to begin the investigation those three years ago. But he seems to be reluctant to help. Is he involved in some way and does he know more than he is letting on?
When they thought they were safe, they found that they were not… when they thought that they had a confidence if somebody, they had not… It was the classic one step forward and two steps back situation.
The ‘One End’ is the name of the driver and Brett would give up all that he owns to be told this. Does he find out in the end?
You will have to read it to find out… Copies of the book are available to order from Pegasuspublishers.com, Amazon, Waterstones Book stores and Cole’s Bookstore in Crown Walk, Bicester. You can also pick up a copy from the shelf in Banbury Waterstones and The Old Hall Bookshop in Market Place, Brackley.
