Volunteers and donations.Friends of the Horton Hospital are a group of volunteers who raise money to buy necessary items of equipment, not provided by the NHS. Previously called, League of Friends, the group have been operating since 1974.
During 2018, they were able to donate over £15000 towards buying various items such as treatment chairs, pillows, walkie talkie radios and a tea trolley for the family room.
They run a shop in the hospital. Selling toiletries, fruit, drinks, savoury, sweet snacks and donated items to staff patients and visitors. They regularly have sales in the main corridor, of donated items, including books, clothes, jewelry and bric-a-brac.
