Bloxham Village History Club – An evening with…

Please join us for a sociable and stimulating evening involving four short contributions from History Club members, with refreshments provided.

  • Brendan Hunter on his ancestor Captain Tom Hunter, leading Irish Republican, who took part in the 1916 Easter Rising and the subsequent War of Independence and Irish Civil War

 

  • Keith Janes on the history of the Drum & Monkey, the former public house in Queens Street, Bloxham

 

  • David Gibbard on D-Day in Banbury and his father Frank Gibbard

 

  • Dan Roberts on Pearly Kings and Queens, who have been significant in mobilising charitable giving in working class London

 

All are very welcome. Drinks and nibbles provided.

Admission: free for members (annual sub); £3 for visitors.
