A festival spokesman said: “Despite the changeable weather everyone had a great time at our fortieth anniversary bash.”
On Thursday The Waterboys performed a spectacular set to close the evening but Gogol Bordello proved a hard act to follow.
Friday evening saw the crowd braving heavy showers to hear Richard Thompson who was followed by a barnstorming show from Frank Turner.
On Saturday the rain held off but a stiff breeze got up – that dried everything out but meant we had to take steps to mitigate the effect of wind on our structures. Zal Cleminson went down particularly well on Saturday afternoon and in the evening Fairport Convention and their guests closed the festival with their customary marathon set.

The weather was challenging at times but all in all we had a very successful festival and the crowd enjoyed three days of great music. We’re already starting work on next year’s festival so mark your diaries now – 13th, 14th and 15th August 2020.
