When Emma started at Bicester Green she was excited about the practical, hands-on, aspects of re-furbishing bikes and old tools for re-use but she quickly realised that the job was going to involve a large people management element. Bicester Social Cycling is affiliated to Cycling UK Welcome! Monica Mehers set up this Group to encourage others out on social cycle rides that are open to all abilities and non-competitive. All our regular cycle rides leave from Bicester Leisure Centre. By joining the cycle rides, we hope you'll make new friends and maybe get other rides going yourselves. We generally stop somewhere for cake and coffee. Regular rides are planned for the First Sunday and Third Saturday of each month - generally 30-40 miles but adjusted to the mood of the day. E-Mails and Pinned posts on our Facebook Page let you know the next organised cycle ride details, usually with the route. We also aim to run some very gentle rides for the less confident and some 'ladies only' rides which may be run in conjunction with British Cycling's Breeze Rides. ?As a member of an Affiliated Group, you may chose to become an Individual Affiliated Cycling UK member for an Adult reduced rate of only £24 per year, which would provide you with Third Party Insurance cover and the ability to view the Group Copy of Cycling UK Magazine. If you'd like cycling help, advice or guidance, please contact us by E-Mail or Facebook, if we don't know the answer we can point you in the right direction. Please, if you are able to go for a cycle any day\time and fancy some company, E-Mail or Post on Facebook to find others who are available. No bike? No excuse. Try bicestergreen.org.uk as they hire bikes out.
