WHY I'M INVOLVED IN THIS YEAR'S COTSWOLD HARE TRAIL

I love the countryside, especially the Cotswolds, so the two AONB projects "Caring for the Cotswolds" and "Glorious Cotswold Grasslands" that will benefit from this year’s Hare Trail fund raising are particularly close to my heart.

The Cotswold Hare Trail is a fantastic way to encourage people to visit and appreciate this beautiful area by creating an exciting treasure hunt like experience visiting all the different hare locations.

As an artist there is nothing that pleases more than having people appreciate your creations so being part of this group creation that brings so much pleasure is something I love being a part of.

ABOUT MY DESIGN FLUTTERBY

I wanted to make another very decorative hare this year as I had developed a style with last year's hares Precious and Milli that I wanted to replicate.

As this year's theme is Cotswold areas of natural beauty I decided to take a look at all the butterflies and moths that exist in the area, and I am loosely basing my painted butterflies on these, although there is quite a lot of artistic license with colours!
